Back-end Engineer at Splitwise

PublishedFebruary 6, 2017

Splitwise is looking for an API and systems software engineer. At Splitwise, you’ll help us build a powerful and scalable back-end, and launch brand-new features and integrations that make it easier for millions of people to share expenses with each other.

We use two languages for almost everything: Ruby and Javascript. On the back-end, most of our code is written in Ruby on Rails, with a few key components in Node.js. Our servers are hosted on Heroku and AWS, and we deploy multiple times per day. As a company, we believe in writing code that is reliable and maintainable, and in testing that code to make sure we can depend on it for years to come.

This job reports to our head of server-side engineering, Ryan. You'll collaborate with a product manager and with our other engineers to implement new features and help Splitwise scale to tens of millions of users. We're currently a small team of just 8 people – you can make a huge difference.
