Calling all devops, you're not going to want to miss the first meeting!
We're delighted to have Jordan Sissel (@jordansissel, github), author of Logstash and Czar of Logging at DreamHost, presenting. Jordan will be joining us remotely to tell us more about Logstash. See you there!
We're finally back, and our next Providence Drupal Meetup will be this Thursday, January 24th at 6:00pm at Lullabot's Activity Center (150 Chestnut St, 3rd Floor, Providence, RI). We’ll be kicking back with food and drink in their swanky work space. Parking is free on and off street (starts at 5 pm).
With a(nother) few month hiatus there's lots of catching up to do. We're going to spend some time talking about Media (the assets) and Media (the module) in Drupal 7 and beyond. Bring your own stories, tips and tricks for handling embedded images, audio and video. I'd also like to take the group pulse on some new ideas for one of our next meetups: community problem-solving & mentoring and possibly even a community code sprint.
Doors open at 6 pm; we ask that you try to arrive by 6:30 pm for networking. The program starts promptly at 7 pm. The program includes introductions, some quick presentations, and a chance to pick the brains of your fellow attendees.
The ancient and loyal order of user experience professionals gathers monthly to toast beautiful, efficient, practical, and awe-inspiring digital design. The UX meetup is a casual gathering to meet local designers, swap industry techniques and news, and celebrate the remarkable design talent in Providence. Grab a cocktail, sling a wireframe, and meet some new and awesome people.
RI Ruby Group's first meeting of 2013 is already planned. How about that?
We will be visited by Brian Cardarella from DockYard and the Boston Ruby Group. His presentation:
- "Gems of DockYard" - Over the past year DockYard has been putting out gems to solve the problems we run into as a consultancy. Sometimes we are solving new problems, sometimes we're suffering from Not Invented Here. I'll go over: the latest ClientSideValidations, ValidAttribute, CapybaraEmail, EasyAuth, Pages, and PostgresExt.
We'll get started right around 6 PM.
And since we have an out-of-town guest, we will likely hit Nick-a-Nees or Rick's Roadhouse afterwards if you are interested.
